چکیده

Three-dimensional (3D) printing is increasingly being used for congenital heart disease to allow an in-depth understanding of complex cardiac anatomy; however, access 3D hindered by lack access. This study investigated the feasibility rapid prototyping (RP)using a readily available on-site printer. Patients with anatomy were prospectively identified. All patients underwent ECG-gated computed tomography (CT) examination as part standard preprocedural work-up. Contrasting timing was modified maximum contrast enhancement relevant anatomy. Using CT dataset, mesh generated using open-source software. The models printed liquid resin stereolithography technology. To assess accuracy model produced, measurement mid ascending aorta compared taken from CT. Over 18-month period, 10 defects further assessment models. average processing time generate 6 hours and varied between 4 8 depending on size. aortic measurements had excellent correlation (33.4±3.3 mm vs 34±3.6 mm; Pearson 0.938; p<0.005). dataset via printers feasible enables appreciation anatomy, which helps guide patient management.

Management of Perinatal Testicular Torsion: A Single Centre Experience

Perinatal testicular torsion (PTT) is a rare entity. The management of PTT is controversial, due to the low viability of the testis and the possibility of bilateral torsion. This is a review of our experience with six cases of PTT, highlighting diagnostic and therapeutic difficulties of this condition.

Three-dimensional printing of intracardiac defects from three-dimensional echocardiographic images: feasibility and relative accuracy.

BACKGROUND With the advent of three-dimensional (3D) printers and high-resolution cardiac imaging, rapid prototype constructions of congenital cardiac defects are now possible. Typically, source images for these models derive from higher resolution, cross-sectional cardiac imaging, such as cardiac magnetic resonance imaging or computed tomography. These imaging methods may involve intravenous c...

Cardiac Three-Dimensional Printing Using Noninvasive Modalities: Will It Revolutionize Cardiac Care?

Recent advancements in technology have brought threedimensional (3D) printing to the forefront of medicine. Three-dimensional printing consists of manipulating a two-dimensional (2D) image obtained via noninvasive modalities, such as computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), or 3D echocardiography to a 3D dataset and then finally into a physicalmodel. Thesemodels can then be u...

Cardiac emergencies caused by honey ingestion: a single centre experience.

An unusual type of food poisoning is commonly seen in the Black Sea coast of Turkey attributable to andromedotoxin containing toxic honey ingestion. This study is a retrospective case series of 19 patients admitted to an emergency department in 2002, poisoned by "mad" honey. All of the patients had the complaints of nausea, vomiting, sweating, dizziness, and weakness, several hours after ingest...
